This year Paint Basket South Africa is organising an art competition with some wonderful prizes.

Entry is open to the public so start working on those paintings now already.

You can enter either one painting in each category or if you want to enter only one category, you can enter up to 5 paintings in that single category. The categories available are :

• People / Portraits
• Landscapes / Seascapes
• Abstract
• Animals
• Flowers
• Under 18’s

All work must be in either Oils or Acrylics.
All work must be for sale and made available for exhibit for a week around the closing date.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Emily Hobhouse Charity.
Entries close 31 October 2010.

The workshop schedule for 2010 is now available. You can view it HERE.

We have some real fun workshops planned for this year, mostly Oil painting workshops, but also Watercolour, pencil and pastels workshops to expand those horizons a bit.

The subjects we are going to paint in the workshops this year are a nice wide variety, ranging from easy texture paintings through to more advanced subjects like painting hands and portraits.

Just remember to book early - you can do that online - as the spaces are limited and tend to fill up fast.

In November 2009 we exhibited at the Estuary Arts Centre to showcase what The Paint Basket had to offer. At the same time we held a competition which had two prizes of 3 months free art classes.
