Here are some of the photos from the pastel workshop on 3 July 2010
Nobody at the workshop had ever drawn in pastels before so we started off the day with a basic apple using the shading method
Then we moved on to use the cross hatching method
Then a simple exercise to demonstrate the principle of scratching
Before lunch Nolan did this demo to tie all the new techniques together and add a few more
After lunch we all chose a photo we liked and drew our own scene. This one is by Sangmi
Hagley Park by Eve
|Boat||boat by Val.
We all enjoyed the day and learnt a lot, but agreed that pastel drawing was a lot more messy than painting in oils [superemotions file=”icon_biggrin.gif” title=”Big Grin”]
