Intro to Pastel Workshop feedback

Here are some of the photos from the pastel workshop on 3 July 2010

shading_apple Nobody at the workshop had ever drawn in pastels before so we started off the day with a basic apple using the shading method
crosshatch_apple Then we moved on to use the cross hatching method
scratching_tree Then a simple exercise to demonstrate the principle of scratching
log_nolan Before lunch Nolan did this demo to tie all the new techniques together and add a few more
river_sangmi After lunch we all chose a photo we liked and drew our own scene. This one is by Sangmi
mountain_jennifer Jennifer’s mountain
forest_eve Hagley Park by Eve
boat_valBoat boat by Val.

We all enjoyed the day and learnt a lot, but agreed that pastel drawing was a lot more messy than painting in oils Big Grin
