New Zealand Students
Student’s Paintings Below is a random selection of my New Zealand student’s paintings done over the past year. In our studios you can stay on as long as you want to. Obviously, the longer you stay with us the better and more professional the results will be. Some of the paintings have been executed with the painting knife only while others also have texture paste to add interest and make it dimensional. All are in oils.

Maisy Family - Pencil Portrait
I received a surprise email the other day from Heather Dickhart nee Frost, an ex student who started with me 15 years ago in South Africa as a high school student. She is now living in the UK with her husband and 2 children. She tracked me down in New Zealand via Google and the NZ Art Guild. She initially came on my 2-day Pencil Seminar courses and then stayed on as a Studio student.
This is a recently finished commission. Well done Heather! I am so proud to see ex students still carrying on with the art taught them in the studio after so many years. What can I say? This just makes me want to not stop teaching. There are still too many people with latent talent. (30 July 2009)

Student’s Paintings 2
Student’s Paintings Below is a random selection of my student’s paintings done through the years. Some of the paintings are the first, second and third paintings from students starting from scratch - in other words, they have never painted or picked up a brush before. See if you can pick them out. Some of my students have been with me for close on 10 years. In our studios you can stay on as long as you want to. Obviously, the longer you stay with us the better and more professional the results will be. Some of the paintings have been executed with the painting knife only while others also have texture paste to add interest and make it dimensional. All are in oils.
