:thankyou:  SO MUCH Kathy for coming to my aid.  I couldn't work out what I had done wrong and was so frustrated. When I left the work force, we only had typewriters so I am not really computer literate but just manage to get around so thank you again for your help, it is much appreciated.

Oh! Mea, you had me screaming with laughter.  Bless you and thank you for such wonderful compliments. It is you that inspires me tremendously with your boldness in attempting and tackling everything without being scared, your keen eye which picks up what we miss and your advice/suggestions to try and make it better.  You are without a doubt an integral part of our PB family and we can deem ourselves most fortunate.

:detective: I needed a closer look, this is so good! The only thing I could recommend would be to accentuate a few more darks on the fallen tree and reflection, and at the base of the grasses by said tree.

Your darks have gotten so much better!  O0 It's getting really tough for me to find anything!  :faint:        ;D

:thankyou:  so much Val for your valued suggestions. Yes, my darks are very much better and you are totally responsible for that. You will remember, that as I was always so afraid of the darks, you advised me to use a darker pencil than what was prescribed.  It was such a simple solution but one that I never thought about because I try to follow the rules as rigidly as possible, by doing what I am told .... I am a product of my childhood, I guess. Anyway, I am eternally grateful to you Val. Thanks so much  :flowers: :flowers: :flowers: :flowers: .

I love this lesson, Nolan.  Made the timberline in almost no time!!  Smudging is a great technique!!

Steve,

I was starting to erase that area to redo it when I had to leave to go to a charity dinner.

Will finish this lesson over the weekend.

Thanks for looking at it with your keen eyes.  I appreciate it.

Patricia, thanks for your encouragement.

Here is my drawing of the scene. The reflection was quite a struggle. I erased a couple of times.
But it was a good lesson. I find myself now looking at reflections in water all the time. And we have a lot of
water here in Holland.

greetings,
Dirk
