What a lovely scene! And I like the intended changes in colour to show sunlit areas compared to the original. So well done Danielle! Hope to find the time to do this.
This is pen and ink with water colour right? I can see the ink lines.

I have not painted in a while since we moved.  I thought a lesson would help me get back into it.  Thanks Dennis, I enjoyed this one.  Not sure how I did on this as I felt really "rusty" painting.  To me, it looks like a cartoon......comments and suggestions very welcome.

Very well done, Patricia    You just lost most of the highlights (The punch) in the center of the painting. You should be able to recover some of the highlights by lifting out, and then adding pure yellow straight from the tube.  O0

This really looks good.

Great stuff, Dennis.  Thanks.  I want to try the bird lesson one and the lighthouse lesson as soon as I can get to them.

I will substitute a mynah bird and a Hawaii lighthouse as soon as I learn the technique from your video.  Have a few exhibits coming up after the first of the year, so I want to contribute something new.

Win, the LIVE classes come on only occasionally and have nothing to do with the normal class releases.
For upcoming classes to be released, go to the PB HOME page, click on classes and then in the dropdown click on "coming soon". There you will find the class you are looking for.

The template you will find that in the Watercolour Classes in the Forum.

:thankyou:  Gita for your lovely comments and I too, find it so fascinating that we all see things differently. Our paintings all have their own personality because of how we interpret what we are seeing.  Interesting I find.

Win, I hope you found the spot which Dennis has directed you to. If not, give a shout and we will help.

Here is Bill's version of the #119 Watercolor Blue Gum Trees in a Forest and the comments that were offered when I tried to help him get it into the right place, but ended up putting it in with a different Blue Gum Tree lesson.

From Bill76434:
My take on this lesson, please I would like your critique

Comments:
From Mea:
Bill,
I LOVE your take on the Blue Gum tree painting.  Great foreground.  Nice bark. Maybe blur the thinnest distant trees a bit more.

aloha

mea

From Linley:
I like the lighter area in the middle of the bark area that indicates a sunnier patch. Great job!

Reply from Bill:
:thankyou: Linley and Mea. Mea,I did look at these posting but they are of a different lesson. I don't mind where it is though. I shall do a blur as you suggest.

OK,  I think I have everything all in one place now.  I will try to delete the other postings so all the messages can go to one place.

Hope I did not cause too much confusion trying to be helpful.  Bill, your work is excellent and we want you to keep posting it.

:heeha: So that's why I've been chasing this painting the past couple of days!   :detective:       :run:      :2funny:    No worries Mea, sometimes these things just happen.

Great job Bill, just one a small suggestion or two. The leafy tree branch which crosses over the trunk of the big tree, bring up the values so it comes forward and pushes the trunk further behind it. Possibly the same for the branch leaves coming in from the opposite side. They just tend to get lost in the background.

Overall, really good go.  O0

I understand Bill. Those of us who have been around a while refer to them as 'UFO's'... eventually as we progress they tend to find their way out of the UFO bin and back into the light!  ;)

I still have quite a few UFO's to deal with.....           ;D
