slanwar,

Wow, pretty good for a beginner or have you had some experience?

Just be careful not to make things look like they are outlined - check that top middle berry.

Looking forward to more of your work.

:heeha: Wow, your first drawing and a freehand to boot!!! Well done you!  O0

The shadings on the berries need to be softened to take away the striped effect. By softening the values you will also gain more spherical 3D effect. Blending to get the correct variations does take a bit of practice, but you are well on the way.

Well done! Careful for the outlines.

I have to say this. Your profile pic of the dog looks just like my beautiful Chloe.  :smitten:

Thank you. I don't have any experience and when I was a kid I used to draw but my dad was against because he didn't see any future for me, well my dad was an artist himself (oil paint, drawing, etc) and he had a lot of difficulties to pay bills, now with 1 kid in college and the other one already done college I found some time to learn drawing.

Thank you. I think I'm going to draw circles and blend them in to a spheres until  they look good.

You did a great job on the scumbled fish.

Free hand?  You are brave!!

You can take the dog out now!

Excellent job on the fish, welcome to the pond!  O0

Just finished the barn and I did it a bit too fast because I was on my lunch time - work  I used the "best pencil in the world" #2 HB  ;) and a mechanic pencil 0.5 HB, also I used a tissue and my finger, I should bring a blending stump to my office.

Excellent, Stan.  You are making good use of your time by drawing.  Barn details are so neatly drawn. Nice clouds and fields, too.

Good to see you're accomplishing something while at work...       :2funny:    Good on you!   :yippee:

Nicely done, complete little scene. The only thing I would suggest is to work in some darker values to give more contrast and depth.    O0

Drawing during a lunchbreak sounds like a really good way to relax unwind and refresh your mind, eve if you are rushed. The only problem with such right brain activity is that sometimes you lose awareness of time and the boss isn't please when you are late back from lunch. ;)

I like the sketchy look you have there.  Nice sense of style.

Because I cut down most of the trees from my yard they cursed me and I have trouble drawing trees..... I'm planting a few of them to see if the curse goes away

Canson 9x12 90gr, 2H, HB and 2B pencils

Luis

Your tree is pretty good

I found that practice by really studying the shape of the tree before starting to sketch really helps

If I try to do one from memory, it usually does not come out very good.

Luis, I think your tree is pretty good and I honestly don't think that the trees you cut down have cursed you for you have done a good job.  Patricia
