this a potrait im doing for a friend finding it bit tough haha
wondering how im going to do the feet and bit of background to create a bit of depth and shadow

Just my humble opinion. I'd just concentrate on the head and shoulders and no details in the background.

Looks like a little Jack Russell. (?) Doing an incredible job so far. O0
As far as the background, you could try a very fine, light sanding to get a grey tone. You'll want to practice that on a different piece first to see if you like the effect. I tried it a while back and you can get some interesting effects. Put in his feet in much the same way as you did his lower chest, not quite as fluffy, although fluffy slippers would be kinda cute :jk:
I rather like the background as is though, he stands out quite nicely. O0 :clap: :clap: :clap:

Robbie this is excellent :clap: :clap: as one has to be careful as you can't fix mistakes.
I too would leave the background untouched.

thanks all for the tips and encouragements i decided to draw in some tiles to give a bit of depth think it worked the jack russells owner is very happy with the preview so happy days. hope this uploaded not quite got my head round this site yet :thankyou:
