Title: Composition help!!!
Post by: JayJ on November 26, 2019, 08:08:13 AM

As usual I am still working on my texture painting!!! No matter how early I start!!!!
However am bit stuck with the composition.
I have used the third one and find it too busy!
Should I blur out ..or resize the composition?
Truly appreciate your input

I am not good at composition.  But what about focusing on the pot, making the background smooth and blurry (maybe you can choose a soft contrasting color to make the pot pop-out), and get ride of the post in the middle.

Something in that line (maybe), again I am not good at manipulating with my rudimentary software Paint:

it is a great suggestion from Annie.

What I suggest is losing the hidden items in the background, then adding more colour to the scene something like this:

The orange in the pot and fruit (whatever it is, lol) will play up against the blue as they are opposites. Note I have moved the fruit to the third as it attracts a lot of attention. If you want the pot to be the focal point, leave the fruit out (or go with Annie's suggestion) O0

No I had no intention of putting the fruit.

Thank you Nolan for excellent image.Dont know how you managed but was so easy to see!

It was very ambitious of me to think I could try both options🙈..with my reputation of working so slow.I first tried Nolan’s idea as I had ....already started working on half of it!...I barely finished..... :heeha: almost didn’t hand in..but I preserved. It is bit rushed painting..there are lot of things I need to learn!!!!!

Thank you again Nolan,Annie and Win for your suggestion!

Somebody once said to me "If you ask, you look stupid for a minute. If you don't ask, you will be stupid for a lifetime".

Never be shy on the forum. This is our safe place to ask "stupid" questions, show our disaster paintings, get opinions on anything art without being judged or looked down upon because it is through our mistakes that we learn. O0
