Hi Nolan, I like your ballerina dress!
Jay and Bill, I already had most of the dark background on the old painting and acrylic dries fast especially on paper!
-Liz
-
Great job Liz :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
The abstract background works well O0
-
done this morning ... I tried to remember the lesson, altered the angle on the ballerina to give her a forward movement, background I'm not happy with, first attempt at palette knife. I think I will next do this in Watercolour.
-
Fabulous work Bill, great movement in the ballerina :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

Thanks Zayn

This my version done in watercolor as I have no acrylic paints. Watched the lesson and had to change a few steps to make it work in watercolor.
-
great job and good on you for being brave and attempting the class in another medium. You will be surprised at how much overlap there is :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
-
Absolutely! There is always some new tips in each lesson! O0

All ballerinas look great. Mary Lou, Bill, Liz congratulations.
I finished the background. I use 35X45 cm canvas with oil paint. I will have to wait a long time for it to dry. While I was waiting, I started the portrait course. :painting:

My ballerina is Casta Diva. I named my favorite aria. But I need your opinion. Are leg length and feet size proportional? Do you have any suggestions for me?
-
I think she looks great. Face is wonderful and nice movement.
-
She looks perfect, I wouldn't change a thing :congrats:

-
This is my ballerina, and i did her a little different
-
I forgot,i did it in oil not in acrylics
From this lessons i lernt that sometimes is better to use only acrylics if you want to have better effect or do it in oils but wait till the paint will dry.
I wanted to paint wet on wet but it was disaster so i had to remove some paint ,add the ballerina and again cover the background
-
I can see you battled a bit with this one, but that is okay. You learn from making mistakes, not doing everything correctly.
I think the dress came out beautifully, nice colours.
I would just work on the face where the chin and the neck meet. Lighten this area up more and then widen the neck slightly towards the left hand side O0
-
Ok,Thank you Nolan
-
   for trying this difficult painting
-
With Nolan's suggestion, this will be pretty.
