Here are my rocks and my teddy - I found the crosshatching quite difficult for the teddy but was still really pleased with the result!
-
You have a nice delicate touch. Don't be afraid to add the darks though
-
Great job well done :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
I especially like your rocks. You have spotted the tonal values well O0

Thank you everyone! This course is amazing, I'm learning so much! :painting:

And now my Fish... Scumbling was a lot of fun!
-
I can see you have a lot of fun, it shows in the final drawing, great job :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

Lovely bit of 'Scrumbling'

I love drawing animals!

Two beautiful drawings. Nice to see that you are not scared of going dark when required :congrats:
-
Animals are so satisfying... I might end up doing all the bonus animals too!
-
Well done

My still life sketch. I enjoyed how quickly this came to life! Any tips on perspective or shading?
-
I think you have done a great job Katrina. Good contrast in your shadings, the cast shadows are in place and you have an interesting composition :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
May add a bit of shading to the book covers to show they are rounded and not flat?

Hi Katrina another beginner here, just thought I would say your drawings look great, well done. What a great course eh? Two months ago I had never drawn a thing and I'm 64. So pleased I decided to give it a go.

Hi Badart! This course has been great - I’ve learnt so much! Amazing value for money. It’s definitely made me believe truly anyone can learn to draw, you just need determination and patience - especially the patience!
-
Tiger this time :)
-
Great job Katrina
Nice hair effect.
What I am missing are the mid tones. I see some on the bridge of the nose and then in the ears, but nothing in the rest of the fur. Have a look at your reference photo again to see where they are and add them in. These mid tones will show the transition between light and dark completing the 3D effect.
Look specifically for the shading in the neck area. You would expect to see the top being the lightest as it is pointing towards the light then it gradually becoming darker as the neck curls around towards the chest area.

Thanks Nolan! I tried as you said but didn’t quite get it right - but see what you mean and will work on it next time :)

I did my tree based on a view I saw at a Bed and Breakfast in Scotland!
-
Your front tree is fabulous. You have the techniques spot on :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
The distant trees I would like to see one side lighter (top right) and the other darker (bottom left) to show where the sun is coming from. That will increase their sense of roundness O0

I’ve had a bit of a break but trying to get back into my drawing again!! Started off with some flowers 😊
-
Looking great Katrina :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
You have the petals curling up nicely

I was amazed by how 3D they could look!! I’m so sad that I’ve finished this course, it’s been fantastic. I’ve started drawing the sailing boat now which is a lot of fun though.
I also love the look of watercolours and might give them a go - I can’t find any beginner courses like this one though for watercolours or painting?? Any recommendations for learning?
-
Unfortunately Dennis didn't do an intro class, but he did do some beginner classes.
