Hi Folks,
I’m finding it kinda weird trying to copy a classic painting and making the people come alive. But I love the dancers and the impressionistic flavor.

Here is my final painting:
-
Wow!!! This came out fabulous Nolan... I still don't have my sketch done but I want to get to it this weekend.. I haven't been feeling all that good...
-
Nolan, this is beautiful! :yippee: :smitten:

My dancer’s gown is the focal point, but actually the couple is the focus and everything else blurred. I had a canvas that was wide and made my version of Renoir’s work of art. Go for it folks; you can do it in shutdown! -Liz 😃
-
   Well done Liz, yeas the gown looks great.
-
Beautifully done Nolan. It's very vibrant.
Liz you have done a great painting and made it your own

-
You can be proud of this one Liz, well done :congrats:
-
:thankyou: NOLAN, & EVERYONE! :)
Nolan, I thought maybe you wouldn’t like that I painted a Eurasian woman, but that was quite accidental and I ended up liking it. My husband thought I should copy the reference photo, but it was too late to change the tilt of her head and facial features!
I really enjoyed this painting, especially doing the gown. I pictured it moving and swaying as the couple danced! Thanks for this project!
-
My effort in Acrylic. Thank you Nolan for your patient and very instructive lesson.
This 47 x 23 Cm and took me more than 10 hours
-
Well done Bill you painted the scene beautifully
-
We were never trying to create a copy of his painting, rather learn from the techniques he used. Adding your own spin on the painting is awesome O0
-
:thankyou: Teresa and Nolan. You talked in the video about how she was looking down and away, my thought was 'lack of breath freshener'
-
:flowers: :flowers: :flowers: Beautiful painting, Bill!!! You will make a good dress designer with those folds!
~Liz

Bill, great painting  But I will never see this painting with the same eyes again... and keep wondering why he did not brush his teeth after eating garlic and smoking a cigar
