Miss the Christmas wishes but wish you and yours all the best for 2021.

Wonderful painting!

Retirement, would you recommended it?   Hard to know when to stop.

Annie, I actually retired from Engineering beginning of 1994 at age of 60 and went full time teaching art. It almost a year now since completely handing over to Nolan. 26 years after my first  :2funny:  retirement I finally went into full time retirement  :2funny: :yippee:  and I love it. There is only one problem: Nolan has to every now and then tap my hand to remind me that I have actually retired  :o . He looks after me very well

Hi Dennis,
Fully agree with you, retirement is not the lack of work or studies, it is a freer choice to do the work or studies with limited responsibilities to others and hopefully without having to factor financial consideration into the decision.  I am following your path, after 40 y in phase 1,  I am starting phase 2.  With the next 25 y for maths, painting, knitting, and gardening.  I haven't decide on phase 3 yet, lots of time (I hope).

p.s.  Happy to hear Nolan is good to you

Yesterday I painted this 9" x 12" South African scene in oils. It is from a photo I took many years ago while driving through the Southern Free State. Beautiful countryside.

We are at the moment taking part in the Artists Open Studios (Wanganui and district) that happens once a year.
People come from all over the view and  buy.
This painting is of the walkway around our Virginia Lake.

I have this one in one of our newspapers and Nolan has a feature in another local newspaper.

Wonderful bird drawings, Dennis. Looking forward to seeing more.
I like the Bateleur Eagle, and appreciate the work gone into those feathers, but it is the Knysna Lourie that I absolutely love.  :smitten:.

Your Bee-eater is like the ones that we loved watching while they were going about their business in the garden.  😊
