Super Gita, I would love for more to participate, too. Working on January. :)

January Challenge
ROB in (Hood) the woods
-
Bill, you really surprised me with this genius idea! 👌🏻
-
:thankyou: Gita I look forward to other entries.
-
Bravo Bill
-
:thankyou: Maria
-
That is a good one Bill!!
I did an American "rob"in....So cold here today and when they arrive spring is in the air, can't wait.
-
:thankyou: Mary Lou, that's a lovely detailed piece you have done.
-
Thank you Bill.
-
This is for February "blow".."blow"ing bubbles....
I tried to do this loosely but did details, not sure I know how to paint bubbles LOL..
-
I agree, The Robin looks sensationally detailed!
I think the bubbles look rather good to me!
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻Mary Lou!
-
Great job Mary Lou
-
Thank you Gita and Maria.
-
   Another winner Mary Lou
-
I need time for Jan und Feb challenge.. too much happening around me at present, I am trying to find a studio for my art nearby..
-
Thank you Bill.
Gita,. good luck with your studio, how exciting!!
-
Looks like that I almost found one. A big studio for a fair price. It belonged to the late artist spouse of this person. It is well equipped with rails for hanging paintings. It’s even good enough for making a Vernissage.
I am really exited.
Wish me good luck that this is good decision to take it..
-
All the best Gita
-
Thanks Bill, Mary Lou!
-
Trying to make a small story out of the prompt words..
#rob

# blow

Rob as in 'robbed of dignity'
Ok... it is a start, a quick sketch. I am pretty rusty
-
   Welldone everyone :flowers:
Bill painted Robin Wood,
his painting is very good.
Mary Lou painted a robbin,
very soon Spring will be in.
Gita portrayed the thief,
larveging on its feast.
OK, OK I won't quit my daytime job, not ready for poetry but haven't had that much fun in a while :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
-
Annie, I am thrilled by your poetry! so this challenge is bringing out your hidden assets…
And very true… old people are treated as helpless infants.
-
Good luck Gita! What a treat it will be to find your dream studio.
We will be doing the same hopefully this summer. Our plans were abruptly cancelled 2 years ago when the pandemic was declared. Looking for a large lot outside big cities, and hope to either find the perfect house  or better build to spec; and then add a large studio on the property. Most of all, will be looking for a friendly community...
-
Ok, ok, there are no rules not to do your homework far in advance, isn’t it. # hole
-
Yes Annie, I am really looking forward to it. It’s difficult to get a big studio in Berlin for a reasonable sum of money.
-
No problem... as long as there are no rules forbitting us, little procastinators, from posting late
Your story is really creative and fun. Great imagination flowing here.
Give a little pat to Emma for me.
-
I will Annie.. :2funny: :2funny:
-

   This is so good Mary Lou. I have had the same idea, a Tiger, I am spending more time than normally, hope to get my reflections as good as yours.
-
Well done Mary Lou.
-
Thank you very much Bill and Elizabeth. :thankyou: Looking forward to your painting Bill. O0

Mary Lou, this is soooo good! I agree the water reflections are so realistic! I had to remember my visit to Pilanesberg in South Africa where all the animals came to drink from the hole..
-
Gita, thank you so much! Your trip must hold great memories for you. I only get to see these in the zoo. Beautiful animals.
-

-
Thank you Elisabeth, Dennis, Bill, Mary Lou..
-
I had this suitable sentence for my hedgehog story to fit the words of May and June. So, I felt so compelled to sketch. I am sorry if I am a bit ahead. Btw, I read that hedgehogs have to gain weight around 1000 grams before taking a long winter nap. Otherwise they have to interrupt their sleep if the weight isn’t high enough and search for food.
May: # heavy
June:# joystick
-
This is so good Gita. Love this story of yours.
-
Bravo Bill
-

-
Duh ...
-
Yes Bill, Duh!
Let hope this works better... it looks fine to me. The photo, not the fish
Feb - blow as in Blowfish
p.s. the paper is white, not blue
-
Hi Gita, Bill, Maria, and Mary Lou,
All very nice and interesting entries
I have some silly ideas this morning, maybe this last snow fall did it to my brain although it is mild and beautifully sunny here.
1) Maybe time to put a real photo for my avatar... something funny and old... very old one :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
2) Also I was thinking of adopting an artist name for my own creation (not the lessons): Anna?
Hannah? or maybe Annie? :smitten:
-
:thankyou: Annie/Anna/Hannah :) Be nice to see you at whatever age.
-
Be nice to see you
Name?i am signing with my real name
-
Annie i like your fish
-

-
Annie, I adopted an artist name since my real name ( according to my opinion) is too long and a bit unpronounceable for some people. Imagine a person standing before my painting overtwisting his/her tongue to pronounce my real name if I used it as an artist name😂😂
And also, a short and catchy name is better for the human brain to remember, I suppose.
And until now people are thrilled that I have an artist name. It helps to differentiate my person from my first profession.
You choose Hannah? Anna? Any particular reason or attachment for choosing these names? You are the artist. You have to choose. 😘

Greetings from India.. had a chance to visit a farm. This turkey really impressed me with its BLOWn up feathers.
-

-
:thankyou:Bill!
-

-
:thankyou: Dennis!
-
I think an artist name is a fun idea. Whatever you decide Annie...
Gita, your turkey is great!
-
This is an abstract watercolor I did for the "shape " challenge for April. I call this "spring garden".
-
Very original and well designed Mary Lou. :smitten: It works whichever way you turn it.
-
Thank you Bill, I really don't think to do abstracts but actually really enjoyed this.
-
Great work everyone!
-
:thankyou: Zayn
-
Thank you Zayn
-
Abstracts awe me. Your painting is interesting, especially with the title of “spring garden” I started to see the flowers and greens in the various colours Mary Lou!
-
:thankyou: Zyan! Mind joining us? It’s fun!
-
I am new, needed to practice shading 3D shapes. So this month challenge was perfect for me to jump in :)
Also bit selfish, I chose to shade my name. The drawing is symbol of Infinity.
In Indian language Anant = One that does not have an end ::) = Infinity
So decided to give it a try.
One struggle for me is to get the dark shades, I used printer paper and getting true black appears to be a real challenge. Because of that it does not create the depth I wish to achieve. Any tips would be really appreciated.
-

-
   Looks like you are in great shape Anant, very good entry.
-
April challenge ... Out Of SHAPE
-
Thank you Gita. Sorry for the delay in acknowledging you.
Anant, very good shading.
Bill, humorous as usual lol.
-
:thankyou: Mary Lou
-
Where did you get that photo of me? :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
-
Dennis :2funny:
-
:2funny: Too funny Dennis
-
a secret .. it was a self portrait ;)
-
Really, really love your humor, Bill! Cheer up.. don’t present me a „ heavy“ you in May!
Dennis, would love to see a portrait sketch of yourself drawn by you.. 😄
-
Nice drawing Anant!
-
:painting: Gita, still thinking of 'Heavy'
-
Hi all, hope you are all well. This is my thought for "heavy". A heavy chain and lock. I can't remember where I found the reference.
-
   good idea and well painted Mary Lou
-
Thanks Bill. :thankyou:
-
This is such a good painting, Mary Lou!
As for myself, I am not in a position to follow the forum chats time wise. Work is a challenge at present.
So please excuse me if I am not too present in commenting.
-
A VERY quick sketch ... Heavy Snow Fall
-
Bill, I had to smile when I saw your sketch.. 😊 in Berlin the weather is just the opposite.
-
:thankyou: Gita, No actual snow where I live but a bit chilly
-
Hi all, hope you are all well.
I separated Joystick into two words. This dog feels joy chasing his stick!
-
This is really good Mary lou and I like the pun!
-
Thank you so much Gita.
-
   Mary Lou, until this I was struggling to come up with an idea other than the obvious game control ;)
-
Yes, I struggled too Bill.
-
The story continues.. shortly before:
I am keeping my pace up in being ahead. Here’s a „multiworded” sentence. ;)
Intend posting other paintings since I am „wordless“ for 4 months.. :P
-
:smitten: Gita you have wonderfully creative mind with the talent to express it
-
:thankyou: so much Bill! I appreciate your compliments.
It was fun this one.
