Hi Ray.  These look good to me!  I am not so good at this style of painting... I especially like the horizontal view.  Both look fine.  Hopefully you will get some comments from someone more  experienced, but I think you did a super job!

  Hi Ray.   One look and you really made me snap my suspenders!   :2funny:  I especially like the 4 daisy view. The background is beautiful and loose and the flowers just fit in so well.   O0
The 3 flower view looks good, but the flowers appear to be floating on the background as opposed to being part of it. Does that make sense?
Regardless, they are well done...now I'm going to find some linament...lesson learned. Never snap your suspenders!   :2funny:

I don't know why exactly... I think it's the background for some reason.. but I still like the 3 daisy view better.  Val, I can see what you mean by floating, however maybe I like the feeling that the floating gives me??? Should Ray want to correct that, should he just go deeper into the grasses with the stems and darken the base a bit??
What do you think, Ray and Val??

thank you val and dianne, Id realy love to be able to throw the paint on as some artists seen to do, and make something that looks fantastic, i love the look and free feeling of them so much, but practice costs money dosnt it, im thinking all that paper id waste, $$$ lol, and im a bit of a miser when it comes to spending money lol

Ray, I have longed to be able to paint in a more loose style too and like you say, practicing that could run up the bill.  I'm more than happy with what I'm learning from Dennis.  I love his style.

I love both of your paintings.  They are lovely.  I agree that with a little more dark around the bottoms of the stems could help with , but lets see what Dennis has to say.
