Great job on this Gita, nothing wrong with an angry macaw. Its good to try different things and just work them out
with the help from the contributors to this forum.
Thanks Lynn for your comments, I have drifted back to Acrylics but still have the WMOs in the top drawer ready for another try. I did use the WMOs for a small portrait of one of my many grandchildren which was very challenging.

I love the feather work! I've used Artisan WMO oils for years and would not ever consider toxic solvents for cleaning. A bar of olive oil soap is what I use for cleaning which also conditions the brushes. -Liz

Thank you Tool man. Wamos are interesting for me since I am a bit sensitive to strong smells like turps. I hope the colours are as vibrant as real oils.
Thank you Liz. I shall check for your Wamos in your gallery.

Whew - this was fun to paint, and I LOVE water oils!! I'm still struggling with the "flick" technique, and still learning to brush lightly at times (that's challenging.) This reminds me so much of paintings I see in Puerto Vallarta! Any suggestions??

Patricia and Mea! Nolan's teaching of this medium is fantastic! Hard not to create a great painting if you just follow what he does. And I LOVE the water soluble oils. Less odor, easier to clean up, same vibrancy. I'm going to use them on the spoons painting Nolan has on YouTube next!

beautiful work Sharon
Tip - the feather "hairs" painted in the yellow area must be short flicks. That will give you the impression of even more detail

Thank you, Nolan! I'll work on those shorter "flicks" - they're harder than they sound!

Thanks Teresa! So I tried adding more flicks of yellow, but not sure it's showing over the original yellow paint. Let me know if you see a difference, please.
