   WOW!!  Kathy, you are doing SO WELL with coloured pencils.  It really looks like you have found a medium which is suited to you.  No surprise for you did a wonderful job with the graphite pencils too.

Patricia

:thankyou: A big thank you, Patricia.  :1hug: I really love the feel of a pencil in my hand. I do agree that  I have found my prefered mediums. That would be both graphite and colored pencil.

That said, I am excited to continue to play with other mediums. I just love being artistic. a part of me seems to have come alive since I've started doing art.  :smitten:

Beautiful Kathy

A very nice blue that complement well the orange (brown) of the wood, and a very charming composition.
Cheers, Annie

Many thank yous Gita, Annie, Danielle, and Dennis.

The positive comments and encouragement are so uplifting. I've said many times and will repeat again how much our PB family means to me. What we share, give, and teach each other is astounding. We join together from all parts of the world. How amazing is that!

I've been playing with my colored pencils again. This was drawn from a photo I had found on Morgue files sometime back. I've wanted to paint it for a while. I'm so excited that I was able to figure out my colors and shadings. I could have never done this without the wonderful drawing and painting classes taught by Nolan and Dennis.   :flowers:

I've also joined the colored pencil club. I am surrounded by the best of the best.

Wow, KathyS, beautiful coloring.  How do you get it do smooth?  Is it the kind of paper you use?

Mine always looks so blotchy, like it did when I was a kid using coloring books and crayons.

You are really mastering this art - those leaves are very realistic.

:thankyou: Mea. I highly appreciate your compliments and encouragement.   :1hug:

I am using the Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper. I love the way it grabs the pencil. I use the smoother side of the paper. It takes a LOT of layers of pencil. Then I do a lot of blending of the colors. I've learned that the key is to get a good underpainting before adding the detail and blending.
