My sympathies Dennis, even though I am 3 of 4 I always seemed to cop it. Seems I had a tendency to wander....could be why I'm out here!

Dennis, I have a new computer and did not have Adobe reader installed. Thank you for the easy fix. Linda

Claude... you are soooo funny...
called my husband so I could read your post about the easle... sounds a bit like me too... always walk out of the artstore with more than I intended to purchase
I had some watercolour goodies already...but popped into the shop today to get the missing bits and pieces... so... I am also all set for the course and truly looking forward to it.

Waiting for my turkey to heat up, I opened my brand new box of watercolor tubes and brushes. It was a beginner's set on special. Contains everything but talent. Looking at the brushes I came across one with a reservoir called an Aqua-Flo.
I filled it with beer, works great! Hiccup! I hope this W/C class if for dummies cause....... well........... you know.........

Claude, I will be painting in such a way that even "dummies" will be able to paint reasonably good paintings for the first time -if they follow the "steps". I'll also be explaining the steps as we go along. Also I'll be slowing down my painting so that it will be easy to follow - so don't worry too much - it's going to be fun
Don't know why but I'm having a little bit of a battle with the autoresponder getting my reminder emails out.
So Folks - only a few days left till Monday the 9th January 2012 at 8am (New Zealand time)

I 'm not able to get to the art store ( very short leash... Something about "I've heard it all before!!! I let you go to the art store for ONE thing and you...")
and because of that inability, I have a quick question: I don't have Cad Orange available, Can I mix Cad Red and Cad Yellow to get the needed Cad Orange? And do you have a simple recipe that will get me close to the proper color?
Thanks

Yes, to get Cad Orange you will have to mix roughly 50% Cad Red with 50% Cad Yellow. The exact colour even differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. From this mix you can adjust either way to get the colour you want.
There are a lot of ways to get different colours and during the course I will show some of them.

Hello Dennis
I must be doing something wrong. I can't get into the area "Materials needed", it tells me there is something wrong with the web page. I would like to know the materials so I can paint with you. Do you know what I can do to get the materials needed? I'm very excited.
Thanks
Pam

I'm giving you a warm

Hello Dennis, didn't know where to post this but I would like to know if you are going to send us the template for the next lesson. I would like to try painting along this time.

Gloria, you can just add a new topic under mixed basket or so. Dennis normally sends a day or so before if there is any.

I'll be traveling over the next few weeks and won't have internet access. I see the Poppies & the Sea Turtle classes (which I've bought) have full instructions in pdf (ie not just the intro material, photo & template, but abbreviated instructions for the whole painting). I think the Cosmos Bouquet & Cape Cottage also had the type of written instructions I'm referring to. What other watercolor classes have written instructions? Those are SO handy!!
Thanks!
Karen
(if someone would pm me if they have an answer, that would be great. I will get email messages easily but may not be able to check the forum for a couple weeks. THanks!!)

Karen, we are slowly adding the written lessons to the new site, but in a random order. A couple of hundred still to be done
