Fantastic.  Sounds like a total art immersion from here on out.

:heeha: We are in our house! I suppose that makes it official... we are dirt-dwellers!     :o    :2funny:
We fly out tomorrow, back to the Rio to get our 'stuff' which will return with us (my art supplies  :yippee: , Lloyd's lapidary supplies... ok, I'll give that a  :yippee: as well. Don't want to be accused of being biased  )
Never thought I'd say this, but I really hate to leave this place. It's magical! Hopefully we will be back within 4-6 weeks time. Already making plans for my.... 'STUDIO' !!!
Linley, from the huge flat rooftop I have mountains to the north (very close), and Lake Chapala to the south. Wonderful vistas everywhere. I must remember to sort and pack when back aboard PJ, and not dive into my paints and pastels! Ooooh the temptation is already upon me!

Sue, it is just so alive with life and colour. Our home is outside of the downtown area, but within a good walking distance. We have moved into a predominantly Mexican neighbourhood on the not so wealthy side of the tracks as it were. Going to improve my spanish trial by fire! I do love a challenge!  :2funny: Our house is a jewel, and so far the natives are very friendly, just the opposite to what a majority of people had warned us about. I think we are both just dos loco gringos that provide comic relief!  :heeha:    :2funny:

Thanks guys. It has been pretty hectic so far, had no idea how much 'stuff' we had stuffed into out of the way lockers!  :faint: Most all of my w/c supplies and paintings are packed, all but my sketchbook and one pencil are packed. Just my pastels and papers left to pack.... can't bear to lock them away from sight!  :'(
Will be leaving a lot of clothes, thongs(flipflops) and sundry for the local village so that will make life easy. Not so much to pack and we can get new as we find the need in the more/less temperate climate. We will actually have seasons! Not like Canada (thank goodness), no snow  :yippee: , but will need some long pants and jackets. brrrr  :cold:         :2funny:
Getting things ready for our 'cockpit' sale on the weekend.... hopefully will not need to do too many of them!

:thankyou: for keeping us up to date, Val, considering how busy must be, not to speak of the emotional side of 'parcelling off' an era of your lives. But, of course,  :yippee: there is the excitement of your new house and home in a magical place.  Hopefully all will go smoothly and you'll soon be posting artwork of the impressions you have of the beautiful area.

Cockpit sale - cool idea!  Hope it goes well.

Smart to make plenty of room for art supplies in place of clothes.

Keep us posted.

Just catching up on the forum.  Val, I wish you and your husband much luck in your new home.  The town seems perfect for you as I read where it has been a place for artists and authors .  Should be very picturesque with the mountains and lake.  Lovely.  Take photos and post, would love to see the house! How exciting!  :yippee:
