Gita

These are fine line and wash.

Love the turtle's camouflage!

I want to try some line and wash wood like you did here.  Like that.

Thank you  Mea, Win, Liz, Val! 😎
Happy to have inspired you... Liz!😄
Win, all the subjects I choose are so typical for the place I am in, since this is a travel sketch book I want the subjects to give an impression of this beautiful island. 🐢🐬🦀🐠🐚🦇.

Excellent Gita.

I'm picking up a lot of ideas on how to (try) and stop myself from wanting to fill in all of the shadings.  :D   I spend more time figuring out what not to do than actually doing I think!  ;D

I am starting to love this island, Mea.🌍 Want to come back here again. We are living on top of a hill with a great view over the Indian Ocean. 🌊 Sometimes, at sunset the light reflected from the trees of the hill is so impressive! 🌄

The dried and old leaves of the palm tree are then blue! 🌴🌴🌾 You can't even catch this beauty of colours in a photo!

I am so overwhelmed with all the colours of nature here. 😮
Met some local artists, too. Some have such wonderful studios!  :envy:
Val, saw your sketches. I just have a wifi data card which is very slow. Sorry for not answering in that thread.  The parrot is really good! Looking forward to more sketches!  :painting:

Thank you Gita, the next couple are not as good as the parrot's beak... that's what I'll be known for at my demise...she couldn't draw a bird  ::) but wow! What a beak!!!  :2funny:

Another small sketch- there are 3 types of lizards: big brown ones, smaller flesh coloured ones and small green ones. I heard that the big brown ones have the green and flesh coloured ones as a part of their meal. 😮 Feel so sorry for this poor green fellow who came closer to us everyday in the morning at breakfast time. The green colour shines so beautifully under the sunlight.

Gita,

That is so good. even the table leg looks great.

We have a green lizard that visits my kitchen every so often.  What a beautiful color - almost neon.

Lovely Gita, we have so many different lizards of varying sizes here. I find them all such fascinating creatures. I have a few I want to try with pastel.

Wonderful textures in this, nice contrasts.
