Mystery solved!!!  I received a phone call yesterday and apparently someone was being "funny" and left the note as if they were the judge. The judge told the president she did not leave the note and would never do such a thing.  Also it was not her handwriting.  The show is displayed in the public library and the judging is done when people are there.  They think someone must have overheard the judging and left a note.  He said to take it as a compliment that someone admired your painting!  LOL My faith has been renewed....thanks for all your advice on this mystery!

Wheww, I am relieved, Mary Lou.  It felt wrong from the start.  No juror would ever do something like that.

Good thing you spoke up!

Oh gosh, I feel so much better and really restored my faith in the art center.  So glad I told the president about this.

Thank goodness for that. I'll never understand how someone could think that was funny. I give them such a talking too!   :tickedoff:

Thanks Val and Patricia.  These art shows are the only ones I have ever participated in.  I knew they set it up and then at some point they get a judge to come and judge the show for the ribbons.  It was my own fault for assuming the note was from the judge.  I am so glad that I asked the president of the art center about it.  Whew..restored my faith in it!

The sad part is that a person of less confidence/conviction may have ruined a perfectly good painting and possibly damaged their reputation before they even got started. Very mean spirited. I sincerely hope they follow up to find who did this and at the very least ban them from any contact with the show.

Val, you are so right, the person who wrote the note is mean spirited for it could have had ended up in a beautiful painting being ruined.
