I'm back to creating Mixed Media pieces and I can't be happier!! I had stopped when I got so involved with Fine Art But now I know I have to have a balance of both. Me thinks.. These past two weeks I've been working with plaster and hot bee's wax and inks, acrylics, decorative papers , laces and lots more. I'm like a kid in the sand box just having a ball getting all dirty and coming out of it with my eyes all glassy and glazed over!
I'm also going to get back to my Art Journaling. I have stacks of finished journals up stairs in my old studio. and if I have this hip surgery they want to give me and all goes well and I walk again the plan is to open up a studio where I will teach and sell art supplies like I used to do online. Mixed Media and Art Journaling. This piece starts with an Abstract painting and then layers later I added an old photo of me when I used to dance professionally before my accident and altered it totally. There is nothing left of it but maybe my belly button!
This piece has layers and layers of decorative paper, acrylics, inks, watersoluble pastels, laces, alcohol inks, white posca pen and more.. fun, fun, fun!!! and lots of glue!!! I'd love to hear what you all think.

I love it. Never having been much for mixed media, this just jumped out at me and the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. The materials used, the colours and layers, I think it's brilliant.
Wishing you all the best with the surgery, should you decide to have it, and I'm sure you will make an excellent teacher and mentor.

Robyann, this painting is so engaging! So many fun elements. Is that a poem in the upper right?
I wish you all the best for your upcoming surgery. Prayers and blessings to you.

You and mixed media are a match made in heaven! What a history you have had! And I love your ideas for what you'll do after hip surgery. Planning for your future is the best way sometimes to get through the present. You sound really happy now!

Thanks so much Val/ BeaSue/, Mea, Win, Annie, Sharon.. What is written is part of the song Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac, it was playing on the radio while I was painting and the song was like it was written for me. very fitting.. I believe things always happen for a reason and that song played just at the right time when I was wanting a title. So there it was. lol
Oh guess what My painting sold yesterday!! We shipped her out today, She has a great new home. I couldn't be happier!!
