Peonies

This is the largest watercolor I have ever done. It is 16 by 22, I usually work smaller to keep the painting on a board I have. This one I had to tape to my work table. It was fun doing a larger painting. There is no reference photo as I did this from different pictures of peonies that I found on the internet. Your thoughts on this are appreciated.

Mary Lou
It's beautiful. Your peonies and leaves are shaped so nicely.
My only concern is that the leaves in the bottom right corner look like you forgot to finish them. I realize that the most distant ones should look faded out, but maybe the closest ones should get a bit more color to keep the viewer's eye in the painting.
Regardless, super good piece of work. I would be terrified to do a large painting in watercolor. You did it so well. Good for you!!!

Thanks Mea, my thought with the bottom right was it being hit by sunlight and recessed but I see your point. Thank you very much for your comments.

Oh Mary Lou, you should paint larger more often - this is one of your best! I agree with Mea about the bottom right leaves, and the flower - I'd make them all a bit more finished...and bravo for doing this without a reference photo - that's impressive!!

Excellent work Mary Lou!
A little more work on the leaves of that bottom right corner as suggested would finish it off nicely. A few more darks similar to the left side.

So much better!! Could I suggest defining the bottom right peony a little more? It seems a little unfinished. Your leaves are perfection!!!
