After a long time a plein air water colour with ink lines of a tea house in a far off wellness hotel. I always have my urban Sketching Utensils with me.
My goodness, it’s really more difficult to draw plein air compared to drawing from a photo.

The tea house is lovely, Gita.  Would love to join you there for a cup of tea.

But, with my bad eye, I am having trouble identifying the whitish figure  on the left by the path.  (The ghost of Frida Kahlo??)

Looks fabulous Gita :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
For me the most difficult part of plein air is selecting what to draw / paint as the landscape is so big. You have to "zoom in" on a piece of the scene so I sit there wondering what to zoom in on. :D ;D

I agree Gita, but once you get accustomed to it, plein air is ridiculously fun!  :crazy2:    ;D
Also agree with Nolan... so much to see, so I try not to look behind me after I start.... ooooh look over there!         :2funny:

I fixed the problem Aniz. I am not too happy with this sketch. I sat for quite some time before this beautiful tea house and I think I did not manage to get the charm of it in the drawing.😒

I agree Nolan, I think I had to minimise what I saw in front of me.
Thank Val!

Yesterday some Berlin Urban sketchers met to draw fellow artists.
So all of us sat quietly trying to catch a pose of a front artist. Funny situation. Many people passed by... and gave second glances at us.
Here is my sketch after about 30-40 minutes. I had gone there after work just with my paper block, water colours, Just only brush, size 10 round and water.
It was a good learning process for me that minimal utensils are enough for sketching. I could have added more darks but I stopped since I was so hungry and the hummus restaurant a couple of meters away was too distracting.😅 🍜🍲🍹
Got the “Berlin Sketchers” stamp on the sketch fast and rushed

:heeha: Good on you Gita! I´ll bet that was fun. Two poses in 40 minutes!!! Great job.  O0        I´d have had falafel crumbs stuck all over my painting!      You had far more restraint than I would have.  :2funny:

Hahahahaha Val!

Nolan, thanks for mentioning about my will power. I do some fasting, too. Sometimes 16 hours without food. That helps.

I am with you Gita, it is a lot easier sketching from photos. I really like your sketches.

THese are good, and so worth while in connecting your eyes to your hand for sketching.

After a long time an urban sketch on brown coloured paper.
This is entry of the Berlin Zoo.
