currently at work on this piece i contacted the owner of this image and has kindly given me permission to make the drawing
the owner is a photographer based in canada called Ross Buswell who owns atmosphere design you should check his work out
he takes stunning photographs around the world
The drawing is of a personal friend of mine we from same village went school together he formed the rock bands the skids and Big Country sold over 10m albums but sadly took his own life in 2001.
This drawing im going to gift to his daughter Kirsten who herself has followed her father and is a gifted musician in her own right
This my first potrait of a person i have attempted wish me luck as i am trying hard to do it justice
Any tips help will be gratefully accepted.

Robbie,

Fantastic work on this piece.  My only suggestion is that the shading at the bottom is so dark that it really hides the hand and guitar (or is that just because of the way the picture was taken).  Regardless, it is so well done.

I'm sure it will be treasured.

 :thankyou: Mea,

yes its still dark at bottom i have not got to that part yet try to do a square inch at a sitting
its a very time consuming piece think i will be at least another 2 weeks on it yet  :painting:
she does not know im doing it yet think the last time i met her she was around 10 years old
so hopefully be nice surprise for her.
Also Ross the photographer wants a print of it when its finished so no pressure huh

:thankyou: Dennis it is a bit tricky with the subject being lit up by the spotlights as against normally coming from one direction

but as they say nothing ventured nothing gained  :painting:

   Robbie, you are doing so well and what a lovely thought to gift it to your late friend's daughter.  She will cherish it, I am sure.
