Growing up with 2 older brothers I used to build models with them. I remember the B-17's well. very nice rendition.  O0

The only thing I find a bit off is where the cabin joins the fuselage. As you come toward the tail it looks as though it is sitting on the far side instead of on top. Not sure how to fix it though.  ???

    Mea, a beautiful job on the B-17 Bomber and I would agree with Val about where the cabin joins the fuselage. It looks like the cabin is sitting next to instead on top of the fuselage but otherwise, a fantastic job.

Such a thoughtful present for your husband, Mea! It's come out well. Val's suggestion could be implemented, but not necessarily.

Thank you, Gita, KathyKuz, Val, and Patricia.

I looked back at the reference and see where I went wrong.  When I did the line (as in "line and wash"), I put a line all along the fuselage where it did not belong.

One of the beauties of using the crumpled tracing paper is that you can usually wash off the paint and most of the ink.  I've done my best to correct it - just waiting for it to dry.

I really appreciate when people point out things that appear "off."  I cannot get better otherwise.

Thanks all for the input.  I have revised it and feel much better about it now.

A friend whose husband works for Erickson Aircraft in Madras, Washington, and flies their vintage B-17 has asked me to do one for her. A friend in Massachusetts has ordered a print.

Thanks, Val and Kathy Kuz.

Hmmm... I see another area that needs to be fixed, where the red meets the fuselage.  Need to be a smooth transition, not a gap like it is now.

Thanks, Patricia.  Having fun with crumpled paper.

Thanks, Bill.  Wow, I am calling my husband into my studio to see this photo.  Thanks for sharing.

I offered to donate a painting as a door prize for the senior citizen Christmas Party so I painted a very popular scene in our community.

The volcanic rock formation was perfect for the crumpled paper technique.  It'll be matted to 11 x 14" size.

Any tweaks before I put down the brush?
