KathyS,

You did it!!  What a great first attempt at watercolor.

The blending of the background is so well done.  All that drawing practice paid off because the flowers are so well shaped.

I am so happy for you.

:thankyou: Sharon. Watching the amazing things you do with watercolor is one of the reasons I chose it as my next medium. Your work is so beautiful and versatile.  Definitely keeping those paint brushes out and in easy reach. One painting and I am hooked!  :D

:thankyou: mea. The background was scary at first as I am kind of a control freak   :P  but then I let go and just had fun.  :D I am so thankful for all the drawing practice and support from you and the other PB members.  I agree, it did help me to understand how to accent my flowers.

:thankyou: Dennis! I appreciate the detail of your lesson. I needed and followed each step to learn. I'm looking forward to many more of your classes.  :yippee:

:thankyou: Patricia! It did feel like quite a plunge but oh how exciting to do my first painting. I really appreciate your strong encouragement and support.  :-*

Time for a group hug

:pullhair:  :( That's how things are going with the acrylics. I'm struggling a bit with it. My major malfunction is with learning how to apply the highlights. One thing I'm doing wrong is putting too much yellow or blue in the white. Both of the highlight colors should only have a tinge of color. That and I need a lighter touch.

Anyway, I'm putting the paints aside for a couple of days so I can finish my drawing of the old stone church. Better days are coming! :)
