thanks for the class Dennis, after many attempts I was able access the video and sound  , but my chatbox just didn't want to work.

My questions that I was wondering about.
1. Why draw with a normal pencil and not a watercolour pencil?
2. Can I use a dropper to put water in my pallet instead of using my brush like you showed? How will I know how much water to use?

Dennis, I logged in for the class. It said the "website resources have reached their limit"  and I couldn't get on!!   What does this mean?   Was so disappointed after waiting so long for it to get here and rearranging my schedule to make sure I was home!  I know this happened to at least one other person.

Great show Dennis. Great camera work guy-with-the-earring! Now questions:
1.- If I use paint from tubes, after I've finished, the left-over paint will dry, can I re-use it by adding a drop of water?
2.- Do I leave left-over paint in the palette?
3.- How do I clean my palette?
4.- Is the hair dryer only to save time, can one just wait for it to dry?
5.- How do you make blueberry muffins? (Sorry, wrong forum)

Whew!  I thought I wouldn't be able to get the live watercolor class but finally got on.       It took while before I could get the chat section though but I managed to get caught up on the conversations.

Dennis, you did a marvelous job on the cosmos.     I like how you had the large white border on the paper that showed up just inside the mat when you put the frame on the painting.  It kind of made it look like it had a double mat.

Having the masking tape create the border may also help the paper from buckling?  ...a very nice technique!

Your cosmos are very nice and loose.  I tend to fiddle too much and give too much attention to detail.  Watercolor always looks better painted in a more loose fashion, well, at least the way my eye sees it.

Nolan, you did an excellent job with the camera work.  Thanks so much.

I think our tutors  have been working very hard behind the scenes and need a great round of applause!

Great Class Dennis,  I have drawn on my flowers and put on the Friskit and am all set to go.  I am going to wait for the replay and paint along, in the meantime I am practicing on scrap paper to try and figure out the colors, especially the background.  First it dried to garish, then to pale, oh well I'll get it eventually..Thanks a bunch     
I thought my chat was not working so I made the mistake of hitting 'refresh' and got kicked out of the chat but not the class thank goodness...the chat came back on a bit later after a few tries...

You can go over the other layer to change the backbround. What   you get depends on the next colours you use. The colours I used for the background were Ultramarine, Aliz crimson and a bit of light red.

I know of two watercolor artists who never 'put up' their paint. They just put everything back in the closet uncovered and just let it dry out. I've seen them start with dried out paint and simply add a few drops of water to it to start painting again. They told me it didn't mater. A little water brings 'em right back to life again... and, they have been doing it for decades this way.
Unless there is something I'm not familiar with, it doesn't matter how you handle your watercolor paints.
