Very well done, Steve    This is one of the most important exercise in painting - recognizing the tonal ranges while painting - more important than colour O0

Well, somehow I never uploaded my tonal painting  , so...better late then never :2funny: . I loved doing this, maybe I'll give it another try, just for fun.

My first watercolour I have done, was also my first painting ever. And aldo it is just a simple little tonal(yeah, yeah starting with tonals looked so easy to me  ;) ) I still like my first painting. I should have taken a new photo but am out of batteries :( .

Nice work, Riya.  Tonals are so important to really get the light/dark message to sink in.

Here is my attempt @ the tonal Painting. Now it's up on the big screen I can see the effects of tone good & bad & also wonky bits.

I don't see any wonky bits at all, only lovely texture. :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

You have done a fabulous rendition of this painting. I am not sure if it just the photo lightening them up, but I feel your darks can go even darker. That will give the depth in the painting an added boost O0
