I haven't been around much just going through some kind of depression with Hannah's passing ( my dog) and my husband is very sick. He has pchorisis of the liver. I know I didn't spell it right. He is not a drinker. He had other problems. Any ways I decided to work with my Genesis Oil Paints. You have to dry these paints in the oven or by a heat gun or they will never dry!! really really!! I love them! I placed a large order to get the paints I was out of and started to paint and ran into problem after problem. First my brand new $200.00 printer broke the day it went out of warranty!! It prints out 11x17 I put my little one on and the ink ran right out!!! Then my hubby ruined a whole sheet of Masonite!! don't ask!! Then the girls who's class I was taking, her tutorials image was wrong!! and on and on we went!! something went wrong right after another. I took to bed!! Well my hubby bought more Masonite and ink so I got out of bed and tried again. whew this time a still life...I think it still needs some work. not sure?  I invite comments and critiques.

    Oh! Robynann, this is stunning.  After all the hassles you have been through and now this beautiful painting appears out of all the turmoil.  Every problem brings with it a gift and boy, this gift is beautiful. You have done a marvellous job and can be so proud.
I am sad to hear of your husband's illness and hope that he is doing better.  I think about you often and wonder how your hips are doing after the replacement surgery?  It never rains but seems to pour as we go through these trials but just know that the sun has to shine sooner or later and tough times don't last but tough people do.

Oh, Robynann, what a tale of woe.  Hope everything is taking a turn for the better now. It's amazing that you were able to do this so beautifully with all the setbacks.

My only concern is that I cannot distinguish what the pretty red object is to the left of the silver and glass covered pitcher and what the silver object behind is behind it.  Or am i looking at an optical illusion?

Thanks so very much Patricia and Mea. They are running a lot of tests on my husband to try to find the cause of the problem so they can treat it. In the mean time he keeps vomiting a lot! I feel bad for him. But I'm angry too because he caused part of the problem with a drug problem not being able to get off them when the doctors told him to years ago. Some medicines are vicious and we have to take them. I know because I take a lot of pain meds but don't abuse them. There is a fine line you don't dare cross with doctors nowadays. I set my mind up years ago when I was told that I would be on pain meds the rest of my life. I told myself NOT to abuse them! That I would be out in the cold without help if I did abuse them and that world looked ugly to me!! any ways my hubby is very sick and I just wish they could help him more. For pain they give him nothing and I don't blame them. He got sick on the nausea meds they gave him. so around and around we go.

Mea I don't see what your talking about so it must be some optical illusion. This picture was done on my tablet so maybe that's the problem .Anywho Thanks so much Ladies.

Robyn, your painting is a marvel. Love the old style colourings.

I think what mea is seeing is some very small leaves/flowers on the outside of the left leg of the stand. The silver behind (right) appears to be reflection. Then again.... I may need a bigger magnifier!  :detective:    ;D

I do hope you are feeling better now, and can, and do appreciate your diligence with your meds. I have found through personal experience that some physicians can be a bit careless in their doling out of tablets and such. I understand your explanation for your husband's cirrhosis condition. Mum had it and was not an imbiber of alcohol either. Funny the misconceptions some people have.

Hoping your surgery was a success and you will soon be living a pain free life. I know it is a bit of a long rough road ahead, but it is worth working through the dark times to the light at the end of the tunnel.    :gl2:      :1hug:    :flowers:

Thanks Val so much. Yes their are leaves to the left but no reflection to the right. LOL

I'll be on these pain meds the rest of my life because of my condition with my legs. Has nothing to do with my hips. But I know if I want to keep getting them from my doctor there is to be no monkey business so to say. lol I've seen Doctors cut off people for the tiniest infraction of their rules. I can't afford to do that. My pain is too bad for that. John abused his years ago and then found them on the black market after the Dr's. cut him off. Now he's paying for it. But so am I for I might lose my husband. I feel if the doctors knew he was abusing him yes they should do something but sending him to the streets is not the answer. They shuned their patient who now had a bigger problem. I don't know I just don't think it's right for the Dr's to turn their backs like that.

anyways I'm off my soapbox now :2funny:

No reflection huh?  .....  ....  ::) .... ok, bigger magnifier at hand. You might be right...looks more like shadow (perhaps a bit of shine from light on the paint?) Never ask a half blind artist for a critique!                 :2funny:

Regardless, still marvelous!!!  O0

Maybe I had OPTICAL DELUSIONS!

Never mind me, it is beautiful no matter what my eyes conjured up.

Love the contrasts in this painting, and of course I love anything with red in it as well. The silvers greys and reds give it a dignity that it might not have had, had the palette and lighting been different.
