:surrender:   MARCH IS A SPECIAL CHALLENGE MONTH!!!    :surrender:

Please check the guidelines for each challenge as they may differ slightly
This month is abstract month!  Don't Panic !  I promise it will be fun, and you'll have a few options to play with.   :goofy:      :pullhair:      ^-^

1/  The photo can be rotated left, right, upside down, right side up, or flipped! Whatever takes your fancy.

1A/ Pick your colour if this one doesn't take your fancy.

1B[/b]/ You will need to add an abstract/semi-abstract center piece to your painting. The photo is your background.

2/  As usual, any and all materials may be incorporated into your painting. Go CRAZY!!!
3/  Post only your finished painting. If you require any help/advice please contact your nearest mental health center.  :jk: Kidding!
Please post it in the medium appropriate Encourager Section where members can help you out.  :smiley6600:

4/  Have Fun!!!  Now Let's Go Paint!   :painting:     :yippee:

 Is the background to remain monochromatic?  Can I use more than one color for the center piece?
Thanks Val,
Maria

The background should be kept monochromatic, but colour doesn't matter. You can put whatever you like in the center, any colour, any size as long as there is still some background retained.  O0

I thought this was a photo....beautiful job! :smitten: (although I just realized this was supposed to be abstract or semi abstract)...

Beautiful work - such great detail.

Gotta love those eyes.

I'll pretend it's abstract.

Thank you everyone.
Oh no MaryLou you are right. I was so fixated on the carpet being the background that when I drew my cat I thought why not just add some carpet and enter the challenge.
I have deleted it and moved it to mixed media section.
Sorry

Ok here we are again.
I  reused my 1st painting and replaced real cat with an abstract cat. Inspired by artist Heather Galler.
Items used were permanent black ink pen and acrylics on cat.  Watercolour for carpet. I used various shades of Paynes grey.
