Thanks for your concern, everyone. I finally have glasses and am slowly getting back into painting.
Sorry for being out of sight for a while. Have had a couple of newspaper articles to concentrate on.
My area of concentration right now is painting for the upcoming mini shows.
I bought quite a few matchboxes and have my first one ready to show. It 6.5 inches long by 1.5 inches wide. Its title is "Tick, Tack, Toe" and painted with gouache. Kind of hokey, huh! Oh, well, that's my style.

So glad you are back! I missed you. This is clever, hokey, but clever.

Hi MaryAnne,
So I’ve found you on Paint Basket! I
your new avatar/profile photo. It’s such a happy likeness of you! Your eyes are better than mine to do minatures! I have to read the papers to know what you’re up to lately!
~Liz
BTW are you using new or used matchboxes? I may have some old ones around.

Sweet Avatar Mea!
By the way, your tick, tack, toe is similar to the weekly challenge where we paint to keywords. Join us there, too, Mea!

Thanks, Gita, Liz, Annie, Dennis, Nolan, Mary Lou, and Bill.
Yes, my tick, tack, toe was a bit hokey. The juror ignored it - no award!
I buy packs of matchboxes (1.5 x 2" size). I go to the sink and burn all the matchsticks, then use the empty boxes. Have plenty of burned matches if anyone has a use for them.
Thanks, I like the new avatar, too. My friend did a really good job on the sketch.
I will be at the best gallery in town on Nov. 22 for their annual mini-show. I have four pieces in the show. Last year, all four sold. Hope I am as lucky this year.

Good luck at the mini show.
Did you know that you can create lovely pictures with burnt matches, too, Mea?

I have also seen people use smoke to create artworks. They usually use a candle, but I am sure you could use the smoke from a match as well?
HERE
is some inspiration for you.
