Water soluble rooster

I obviously have a ways to go to learn how to use a palette knife - but I'm never going to use regular oils ever again...water soluble is the way to go for me!! I will probably do this lesson again to try to make my feather colors more bold...they seem a bit smeary to me!

This painting is looks deceptively simple and is not as easy to paint as it looks. You have done a great job Sharon

The trick to doing these paintings is to use as little strokes of the knife as possible. The minute you start reworking areas, you loose the vibrancy of the colours and the area starts to look busy. Just use nice flowing strokes and bam, you're done

Thanks Nolan and Bill! I want to try this again larger since this was only 8x10. Might make it easier to do those single strokes, Nolan. Next up Though - the olive grove
