NHC50:  For me, the bright "spot" in the sky does a nice job of drawing the eye to that rock and I very aware of compositional "things" ( a challenge for me :-\)  I am impressed with the way my eyes are drawn around your painting. It would have been very E-Z to leave an "escape route" by accident.. For me, you did a great job of keeping me "in" your painting. :)

Dennis: you and Nolan have created something very special here Thank you :thankyou: :thankyou:

Hey Bodine,
I like your painting. especially your clifts. Yes I agree with you on your water. Just add so more blue to it now. It will work. Just soften the edges if needed. That is one thing about watercolour. you can add paint to it. Your foreground grass draws you into your painting.  O0

Brian thank you for your comments about my painting. I almost did not put it on. I am very critical of my own work. I appreciate what you said. Happy painting.  ;D

Here's my attempt at the beach.  My water needs to be darker.  I still have a difficult time with LIGHTS FIRST when I am doing foilage! Maybe, another go at it later!

Thank you, Nina.  I Know I can darken the water, but I am a little scared to try it.  I may give it a go!

I spent the afternoon at the beach!!!   :2funny:   Well, I can dream, can't I???  In actual fact, I'm miles and miles away from the ocean.   :(

Well, here's my attempt at painting the beach.  I found it quite a challenge, especially the waves.  I nearly fiddled them to death and I fear they ended up way too prominent.  I have quite a bulb of trees on top of the cliff as well.
I enjoyed the afternoon.

Thanks Dennis for a pleasant afternoon.  You keep me  :painting:

I see you had a wonderful time at the beach watching the sun go down. A very lovely late afternoon scene at Piha. That is actually what it looks like then. See what changing the general colour can do to put it in a another setting - Absolutely nothing wrong with that. I do that often  :D You have caught the reflection in the water very nicely. I like the  couple have a nice romantic chat

:thankyou:  Dennis!  Yes, I tried to make the couple look like they were holding hands and sort of talking to each other.   :)
