This is a combination of Gesso, India Ink, and marker.  Its title is "ABSTRACT AWASH."  I love the images that appear when the black ink is worked into the gesso with a toothpick.  It is painted onto a 10-inch square box wooden panel.

Welcome your comments on how to make my abstracts look more exciting.

Looks great. Between the design, colours used and your signature, it looks like a traditional Chinese painting :heeha: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

"Leaf Skeletons" - Watercolor washes and inked lines on watercolor paper mounted on 12" square wood box panel.

Could use some critique on this.  Still not sure about cast shadows and shading on a painting like this - being that it is more abstract than real.

Thanks, Dennis.  Yes, done and varnished.  Ready to mount on wood panel for the next exhibit.

If I had not found paintbasket five years ago, you would not have seen this painting because I might not have pursued art as a hobby!  THANK YOU to you and Nolan, and all PB-ers who encourage each other.

Ni hao, hi there Ms. Leong!   :)

I just came across these fantastic paintings of yours!!!  The blue swirl looks like someone is ‘barreling through the tube’!
What do you think about a red frame or painted on frame for your oriental art?

I can just see you happy as a lark playing with your paints and inks!  I recently saw a guy on Youtube do a huge abstract by pouring paint on a large canvas. Globs here and there of different colors.  Then he covered it with a plastic sheet and used a rolling pin over it, spreading the paint; he lifted the plastic and added more where needed so that after more rolling the whole white of the canvas was covered.  Pretty amazing abstract.  I suppose rolling a dowel would have worked, too.  There must be tons of things to do or use for making abstract art, right?!

Keep enjoying yourself! :painting: ~Liz

Thanks, Liz.  I bought a small roller since most of my work is small.

That mini blue wave will be in the Mini-Show at Cedar Street Gallery on a mini-easel.

Am working on getting gigs around Valentine's Day to do chocolate painting demos.  We'll see how that develops.

Take care, dear friend

Ms. Leong!
