Saturday, Sept. 15

We went to breakfast at Hukilau Cafe, a restaurant that was named in Adam Sandler's movie, 50 First Dates.

Then we went to one of the most picturesque places in Hawaii - Laie Point.

Later in the day, we visited two art exhibits and toured around Honolulu and Waikiki (until the Fall Festival closed the streets!)

Great day.

Just caught up with this thread.  How wonderful for you guys to meet and Mea, how lovely of you to extend an invitation to stay in your cottage.  I know you are all enjoying every moment.  Great pictures!   :yippee:

Here's another photo from yesterday.  Lisa and I are at the Pali Lookout.  Windy, windy! (That is not my hand holding her hair from flying away.)

Incredible view from up there.

:) WHAT FUN!  Lisa and Mike have the best tour guide ever!  MaryAnne knows how to really get around after living here so many years, plus being so active in the art community, too!  She has a wonderful country retreat for all of her friends who she welcomes with her personalized strelitzia poster card; my husband and I were presented one last month when we visited with her also!! ~Liz

Thanks, Liz.  But you and Wyman have it all over me when you add your music and hula!  Plus your insider understanding of Hawaiian culture.

Hope we can get together before they head back.

We are having such a great time! MaryAnne knows the best people and everyone is so giving.  :smitten:

We have visited Pearl Harbour and walked through the battleship USS Missouri, the Bowfin Submarine, stood beside some really amazing planes at the Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbour and visited the USS Arizona monument. Such amazing history.

We have big plans and now have the bus system pretty sorted, only a few hiccups  :2funny:

Now if only my tendons in my heels would settle down I have my walking to do!  :knuppel2: :)
Aroha! Lisa :-)

Glad you and Mike are getting to see so much.

Tomorrow we meet Liz at the Honolulu Museum of Art.  We'll see a Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, Picasso, and a few other masters. Plus hundreds of other works.

:thankyou: :thankyou:  Lisa and Mea for posting the lovely photos and it looks like you and Mike are having a wonderful, educational trip Lisa. As I said before, you are seeing things and places which some of us have just read about.  Enjoy it Lisa for it sounds so exciting.

So pleased to hear that you will be meeting Liz tomorrow too.  Wonderful, our thoughts are with you all.

Take care,

Patricia
