Just saw a posting on the internet of an earthquake in New Zealand, North Island.  Hope all my Paint Basket friends are safe.

The 6.7 quake shook us at 3:15pm NZ time. Fortunately it occurred 145 Km deep and not shallow. It was felt almost to Auckland as well as the bottom of the South Island. We are all OK.I was busy filming a pencil drawing when it happened. I'm one who does not frighten easily so I kept going through the quake. We had a bit of rocking and rolling but not as bad as the one we had almost 2 years ago. When I viewed the final through the editor you can see the few seconds of shake which I've decided to leave in.
Coincidentally, a lecture on quakes was scheduled for that same evening, which I found very interesting. I heard last night that the rocking and rolling results from the 3km deep sediment layer around our area here in Wanganui.

Thankfully you are safe and it didn't cause damage.  We had one once, it is such a strange feeling to have the floor move below you.

    Thank the Lord you are all O.K. Dennis.  I didn't even know about the earthquake for it wasn't mentioned on our news this evening.
