Here is a commission painting I have been working on. I’d love to know what you think.
That bow has been a pain for me. I have reworked it several times and I just can’t seem to get it right. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to improve it.
Thank you!

She’s adorable!! My only suggestion in looking at the ref photo is there are pink highlights on her neck fur and the fur sides on either side of her nose. Can you add those for a hint of bright girly color?

Congrats on the commission!!
Cheers,
Sharon

:flowers: :flowers: :flowers: Mia is such a doll! So pretty! Sometimes a little bit of color streaks can make a good portrait a better one as Sharon suggested.  -Liz

Thank you Sharon and Liz. I did see that pink tint on the photo and tried to add a hint of it but it didn’t show. Ill go back and make it more noticeable.

Patricia- Your comments are like rays of sunshine. They always brighten my mood. Thank you so much.

Really nice just as you posted it.

The bow colors on the reference picture seem flat to me, so you mostly just painted what you saw, and have already improved on the photo..  Since I am color blind to red, you don't want my opinion on what to do but others comments make sense to me.

I think your painting would be appreciated by your client as it is or with subtle changes.

Mea - Thank you. I was excited to paint this one. I thought the reference photo looked as pretty as a painting to begin with. This dog is so tiny it fits in the owners hands.

Charles - Thank you. I’m glad you like how the bow is painted. The glitter made it difficult to see some of the detail I needed to give it depth. I still wonder if I should tone down some of the contrast on it.

My only comment is to remember Mia is the subject here, not the bow, and the subject looks good.  Sometimes I focus on details so much I lose the big picture.

Mia looks great and will look great no matter what you do!

Thank you Dennis and Charles. Here is the revised painting. I made some small changes including adding some pinks in the chest and face as suggested. I also tried to add some pink into the bow as well. I think the rosy tints made it better.
