There’s a charming place in Sacramento called Fairytale Town. All of the little kids love to go and run around this place. They have lots of statures and play areas with fairy tale themes. I remember taking my kid there a lot - knowing it was great exercise from all of the running around and climbing on the exhibits.

So I thought I’d paint the entrance - kind of a nostalgia thing. I’m thinking I may offer this to Fairytale Town and create prints we can sell to raise money for them (they’re a nonprofit.)

What do you think? This took a lot of time - each stone was almost like its own painting!!
Cheers,
Sharon

Great idea, Sharon.

Great painting.  Since you have really established yourself as a respectable artist in the area, I should think they would jump at the chance.

Good luck.

Thanks Mea and Patricia! I’ve already emailed the executive director. She knows me from my Wells Fargo days when I ran the foundation and gave away $2MM/year to local nonprofits. She also knows me from my event planning days when I launched and ran the mayors arts initiative. So I’m lucky I’ve a good reputation!!
Cheers,
Sharon

Nice idea Sharon.  Your stone walls are great.  I think it needs some shadows tho, looks a little flat.  The side of the entrance away from the sun and inside wall of the entrance I think could use some shading.  This would give it more depth I think.  Just my opinion....see what others think.  Lovely painting tho, and sweet memories for you.

:thankyou: Dennis & Teresa! And this is the BEST place to take little kids - you feel like the fairy tales from books have come to life!

Beautiful painting Sharon. Have you heard anything back from the executive director?

Really appreciate the compliment! And still no word from the ED - but I'm reaching out the Chamber of Commerce. FT Town is being recognized at their annual dinner this year - hoping they may have some interest in the prints...
