  Soizick, your berries are good but personally, I think you could still go darker which was always a huge problem for me and I overcame it by Val telling me to use a darker pencil than the one prescribed, which really helped me tremendously as I was always afraid of going too dark. 


Your rocks are EXCELLENT, your shading superb.   Carry on the good work.

   There you go Soizick ... you didn't hesitate to go darker and look at the great job you did.  I think when we start out, we are always a little too timid but you certainly overcame it with the rocks.  A lovely job.

Hello,

This past 2 days, I worked on cross-hatching.
My cup does not have much volume, I believe that it is because the vertical lines should have some curve and not just be straight vertically.

I think I did a better job with the Teddy Bear as far as volume.

Your berries are looking great, good contrast. Can you see how much depth they have because of it?
The berries should be perfectly round so that is fine.
Another way to do the leaves is to softly shade them in, then erase the veins. Maybe try that method to see how it works for you. (The bottom leaf looks great so use that as an example for the rest)
Cup - Good hatching. You can however add more hatching on the sides to darken. Especially on the left
Teddy - fabulous job. I am very happy with him
Fish - SPot on. You have avoided all the common mistakes people make with him

Thank you Nolan for the continuous support. I really appreciate it and your advice are always on point and useful to build up for another lesson. When I redo the leaves or try it for another drawing, I will try the erase technique as suggested.

Nice texture in your drawing. Well done
Just one thing to look out for on the top roof panels - the lines formed by the corrugations must always follow the angle of the roof. Yours are a little off in the centre area. Leave it as is for this drawing as the barn is a little ragged. Just remember for future drawings

I hope everybody is having a wonderful Sunday.  I was away for a bit and today, Sunday, I feel grateful to be able to return to my drawing class. I drew the little squirrel. I tried to go fast after I transferred it as Nolan suggested in the lesson. All about the strokes.

Woohoo, thank you, Dennis.  Now you mentioned about the wall, I can see that. My barn might collapse over time if not fixed soon.

Your squirrel is looking good.
Just work on getting the transitions more smooth - where the one tanoal value end and the next starts you want an in between tonal value so that the transition looks smooth and rounded. If you stop one tonal value in a line and start the next one in a line then you are indicating a corner as opposed to a rounding
