That little boy pushed grandma out of the tree.  She's gone this morning, but I see him.

:thankyou: Steve, Val, and Mea! I appreciate the observations. I 'm not crazy about the trunks or the sky either.  So how would I go back and fix some of the areas you pointed out Mea? The painting is, of course, completely dry and I no longer have any of the colors I mixed.  Pencil I know how to fix. Watercolor, not so much.  :P

You girls crack me up with the images you find in trees.  :2funny: Now that I look closer, I too, can see the little boy. Shall I say I planned it?

I'm not happy with the scattered flowers either. They look to random. I like the ones in the lower right corner.

Like I've said before, this lesson is all about colour mixing. You have done well    In nature flowers are always scattered randomly.

KathyK,

Yes, fixing stuff in watercolor is a bit tougher. And we are our own worst critics.  Dennis seems happy with it, but if you still feel you want to make it better, here's what I'd try:

Cloud streaks - either leave them be or take a slightly damp brush and try to lighten the edges.

Green trees - Add more contrast to the tops of the trees to make them look more like the bottom.

Flowers - Maybe clump a few, instead of all singles.  Put some tiny shadows under them to anchor them to the ground.

Trunks - Try painting over them with the leaf colors.

Hopefully, these will be fairly simple fixes.  May not be the best suggestions, but that's what I'd try.

:thankyou: Dennis. I will be content with it as it is then and trust the learning process.  :yippee:

Great suggestions mea. I may leave it as is for now and move on to my next project and come back to it later if I want to practice repairs in watercolor.  ;)

What a great way to teach colour mixing... all that theory presented in such an enjoyable manner.  I saw something interesting but only after I posted it... a real eye catcher!

I know I should not point out my own errors... but I am burning as no one point it out.

But first I will rephrase it as an 'interesting perspective' discovered after the painting was done.  The right side of the yellow tree, its shadow in the water, and a fence post... are all alined.

Didn't notice it until you mentioned it, Annie.

The painting is enjoyably whimsical.

Thanks Mea!

I learn a new word 'whimsical'.  This is good!  The word itself and it meaning in relation to my painting   O0

Annie, if you find it that bothersome you could bring the shadow out a bit or just soften the edge. Easy fix.  O0

Good idea Val!  That would break that line.  Yes it really bothers me, but I did not see it when I was painting, only after I took the photo
Thanks
