On Friday 8 March we went to Napier (New Zealand) for a few days and then, on Monday 11th especially to meet my cousin and his wife from South Africa who are on a cruise around the North Island and stopped at Napier for a day. We had not seen each other for some 15 years. At the point where were to meet, after docking, a man climbed of one of the shuttles from the ship and directly approached me with a very large smile and asked me if I was Dennis Clark. I looked at him for a second, a bit flabbergasted, as he did not look like my cousin at all as he was the only one I was expecting - not knowing anyone else in Napier. He introduced himself as Bill. It took me quite some time to register as this was not what I was expecting. It was a great surprise to find out that he was Bill Atherton from our PB Forum.

It turned out that at breakfast that morning, on the ship, that Bill and his sister were seated at the some table as my cousin and his wife. When my cousin introduced himself a Robert Clark, he said that he knew a Clark who lived in New Zealand. That was the start. At this very moment Bill and my cousin are on the ship on their way back to Sydney.  This is a very small world.

Wow, what a small world we live in.  Fancy meeting one of our Forum Members while waiting to meet your cousin Dennis.  They say that there are no coincidences in life but I often wonder.  Anyway, you are looking absolutely wonderful Dennis. New Zealand must agree with you and it is lovely to see. Thanks for sharing this unusual encounter with us.

This is the type of scenario we all dream about, Dennis and Bill.  So glad you had the coincidental meet up.  So good to see you both!

How nice to see you again Dennis! You look so relaxed and in a good mood. It’s great to hear that you met your cousin after a long time ( and wow, what a coincidence!). Wish you both a happy time!
Cheers, Gita

Arrived in Sydney today.
To meet up with Dennis and his lovely wife, was the most amazing event, To be on the same cruise, same breakfast table, that same morning, to speak to Robert (Cousin) and his wife and to think of and mention Dennis. What are the odds on that.
Robert told me where he was meeting Dennis so I made sure I was there first. You should have seen the look of puzzlement then realization on Dennis's face when I approached him.
A very memorable moment I shall treasure and relate to everyone.
