All the comments made about the fabric makes this class intriguing! You all make it look easy!

Anyone,
What is wrong with my sketch?
Beside the grapes, no idea how to make them look natural but trust this will come later.
Free hand drawing, feel like saying 'look Ma, no hands'!
Thanks for your time.

Annie,
What a good effort so far. Both sides of your bottle look good. Maybe the top of the bread should be more bumpy - looks too flat. Maybe move the one grape in front between the two and the bunch?
You'll get this right and it will look good.

not a bad drawing at all Annie
The one problem I see is with the large bread where the slice has been removed. The right hand side, bottom line where the bread touches the table should go upward towards the left instead of down
Please let me know f that didn't make sense

Dah! Nolan, surely does make sense.... how did I miss that?
Maybe a case of having my nose too close to my work. I know I need to step back and really learn to 'look'.
Thank you very much. This forum is so valuable
p.s. a good reason to paint from a real still life... if I had cut the piece of bread myself... I would have seem that!

This one was challenging and fun watching it come together. Still working on my own still life set up, I am having some difficulty with reflections for my silver still life.

Ginger, your painting is absolutely beautiful. I actually thought it was a photograph. Great job indeed. Patricia

Ginger, you did so well on this. Everything looks so real - shine on the grapes, reflections on the wine bottle and glass, even the pretzels look crisp.
