Hi guys

Watched most (bloody work - nah it's okay I  like what I do) of the Watercolours Colour Wheel lesson - can't wait for the replay - good stuff .

I was wondering, to transfer the same layout to Acrylics, what changes do I make to the method? With the watercolours, It appears basically you just keep watering the initial colour down.

With the acrylics is it just a case of adding more white as you move towards the centre ring or do you need to do the trick from the colour tutorial of adding the next colour higher + white as you move inwards? Basically are we just toning down the colour for this purpose as we move inwards?

I'm asking because I bought what will be my standard set of artist quality paints - Matisse Structure - an Aussie Artist quality (ASTM 1-2) in 10 varied colours - a warm and cool red, blue and yellow + white and a few other pre-mixed colours. From these, I'd like to create a reference like the one Dennis created for his watercolours.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Batman.
p.s. The drawing course is still underway. Still life to do over the next day or two...

With oils and acrylics that is the way I normally do it. By watering down the mixture in watercolours I am basically "adding" more white (White paper shining through).

Thanks Dennis, I think I know what my task is this weekend. I'll post the result at some point.
