Hi Pbers,

So i thought id give oils a whirl as my brother gave me an old set he found lying around. I was going to do a lesson but thought for the fun of it i would just paint to see what would happen so I chose a simple subject as a test. I kind of surprised myself and am happy with the result, besides the the smudged bit of yellow ochre at the bottom which I shall fix.

It was very different to watercolour but enjoyable. I will try a lesson soon so I can get a better idea of what the heck all the secrets are but for now hey its a lemon!

Keep well

I think it’s great Trev! The painting has your style to it even though it’s a new medium for you. I bet you are going to create some beautiful oil paintings!

Thanks Em and Nolan,

It was fun. The only thing is it takes so long to dry which is a bit frustrating as once i get into a painting its hard for me to stop  :2funny:

Anyways take care

Great start! It’s so much fun to paint with oils.
Each creative act takes one deeper into a realm of beauty and magic, a realm that one has every right to be and claim.
