Please could anyone give me suggestions on my drawing? The horses' face is looking weird & I don't know how to capture my daughters face.
I've just started to learn to draw waves, so they're a bit mish mashy. I've been playing with blending, hatching, negative space, grid & PD & erasing with this one, so my head has turned to mish mash!

I like this, the only thing I see to alter would be the proportions of your daughters head. It looks too large for the body.

Looking great so far - I like your waves

Your daughters head looks good, just too large. What is bothering you about the horse's head is the curve along the bridge of it's nose. You need to straighten out your curve a bit O0

Thanks Bill, Nolan & MaryLou :). Yes the head has been a real bother, I had it smaller early in the piece, but i wasn't happy with her eyes & nose, so erased them & unfortunately her cheeks as well & then her head size just kept growing from that moment on. I've erased so many times that only thing left to do is start again. It was really good to play with the water, I was really daunted at first.

Yes I'm certainly learning so much..it's hard to keep track. & every drawing is like an experimentation! with some good accidents and some not so good. :)

I will be the first person to tell you that not every artwork is a masterpiece. No matter how hard you try some artworks just don't get that x factor that others do.

You will also find that somedays nothing you do seems to work or look good on the canvas / paper. Others day everything you do looks awesome.

Luckily as you gain brush miles the good days start to overtake the bad days O0

Good job with your drawing, Trace. I think your water looks good.
Nolan- forgive me but I’m happy to hear “bad art days” happen to you too. I will have days when I feel like I have no art skills at all! Then it’s hard to get motivated to try again.  I guess it happens to everyone!

EmmaLee. I haven't had a bad art DAY for a while now, touch wood, but I do still get sections of a painting that I sometimes battle with so it gets better for sure :)
