PATTERN CHALLENGE

This is the first of the art challenges.

Follow the tutorial HERE to learn all about using patterns in your artworks.

Your challenge is to create an artwork that has a pattern in it using one of the methods from this tutorial.

The pattern can be regular, irregular or even a combination of both.

Then you must break that pattern in an interesting way.

Then return here to post your challenge entry.

All challenges are subject to the CHALLENGE RULES.

Good luck and have fun

Nolan,

Absolutely brilliant concept, I love it.

Hi everyone, miss you all...

Overdue to pick up the brush again.   Just need to find where I left my right brain, but I can give it a start with the left one for this challenge...   :2funny:  :2funny:  :2funny:
Cheers, Annie

Hi Nolan,
This will be another exciting challenge.
Question: Do we have to make up our own pattern for our final painting or can we paint things we find in naturally occurring nature?

you decide Teresa, you have free reign. Let your imagination guide you. As long as you break the pattern in an interesting way O0

Here is my entry.

Oil on wood canvas/board.

The flowers in themselves form patterns and the pattern in the middle as well as patterns on the bug.
But the bug also break up the flower pattern.

Here is my entry.  Ducks in a pond...irregular patterns in water, ducks breaking pattern. Ducks are pattern, mother duck breaking pattern.  Patterns in pond vegetation.  Patterns found on duck feathers. Done with watercolor and ink on arches paper.
