Dear PBers,

Can I paint with acrylic over a strcture sprayed with Krylon Kamar Varnish?

I am looking for something that can be sprayed over a ruff cement texture, to make the application of paint easier.

This is what I want to paint:

Thank you for your input.

acrylic paint should work. I know you get a sealer that you coat the cement with before you paint it so that the paint doesn't just sink into the cement. You can get this at your local hardware store O0

I checked a few hardware stores, including my favorite Home Depot, they don't have this product.  What they have is a cement sealer which 'repels all including water', so acrylic paint won't stick to it.  I checked both the grout and the paint sections, and asked the clerk in each store.

I think I will do a test with spraying Karmar Varnishes and see if easy to paint... but it won't tell me if it will remain stable on the long term.

If I was going to paint this I would just paint it using acrylic house paint (buy test pots from the hardware store)

The paint will last for a few years before starting to fade or flake off. By that time you will be ready for a change anyway and can just paint straight over the old paint ;D

I don't know why we always overthink things.

When Dennis and I were setting up the recording studio we were thinking of and looking at all sorts of fancy lighting systems with multiple lights at various angles and positions, all costing a pretty packet. So we went to the the lighting warehouse to go have a closer look. After a bit of a chat to the salesman he said "why don't you just use fluorescent tube lights" :death: ;D

:2funny: Too funny Nolan! My little lamp on my easel just can´t stretch out far enough to give good light, so we went out and found a clamp light with a larger reflector. Wasn´t ´til we arrived home that I thought to myself... self (I said), you don´t have anywhere you can clamp it, especially if you want to plug it in!    Soppy git! :goofy: Anybody else an overthinker?   ^-^
