Ive been scrolling through older posts for recommendations for a good sharpner, for graphite and colour pencils. Need it to produce a really sharp point without it eating half my pencil. Anybody got any ideas

That looks good Nolan, except however the cost (on my budget) I will carry on with the knife and fine sandpaper  ;)

Since my old sharpener was corroded to death by the salt air, I haven´t found one that did a good job without eating up my pastel pencils. Have you ever tried it with pastel pencil?

I’ve had this sharpener for nearly 2 years. It is great with graphite and colored pencils. I get amazingly sharp points and it does not eat up my pencil. The price right now is crazy. I paid $35. Amazon has lowered it to under $9.

The Derwent sharpener is sadly not on a special offer here.

Thanks for the info Kathy. I´ll keep a lookout next trip up to the city. I want to test one before buying if possible, the ´lead´ in the pastel pencil is much softer than other pencil leads. Have only found one hand sharpener that does a relatively good job, but doesn´t give a really good point. Can´t trust sharpening with the blade as I used to, could end up minus a digit!    :death:   Until I find a good one I´ll just have to keep swapping my lookers and make Lloyd leave the room!  ;)
Cheers, Val
