My daughter showed me a picture (watercolour)that she wanted me to paint for her. As I've never done a full watercolour before (I've only dabbled with it in Mixed media) I didn't think it would turn out the way she'd like.
I turned the whole exercise into following Dennis watercolour for beginners lesson & used A3 Sketch paper. The paper warped from the water medium.
I made a slight change, but not enough to make it different to the original. As I progressed along, & experimented, I grew comfortable & enjoyed playing with the splodges, drips and tones. I was totally surprised how it emerged. Well now she loves it & has framed it & wants to hang it in her bedroom.
Should I prise it back off her & bin it?

I would let her decide.
